Where It All Began
Nestled in Yunnan's mountain ranges, our China team brings expertise in processing innovation and sensory excellence to the specialty coffee landscape.
Our Birthplace, Our Home
In late 2014, we didn't just open an office in Yunnan—we moved here. Pu'er is where Torch was born, and it remains our headquarters, our largest operation, and the place we call home.
From the beginning, our mission has been simple: improve coffee quality and connect farmers directly to markets that value their work. We believe the only way to truly understand coffee is to live where it grows—through every harvest, every processing experiment, every challenge and breakthrough.
Today, our Pu'er facility houses everything: farms, processing mills, a roastery, training lab, specialty cafe, and export operations. Our Mountain Man Project has trained over 400 farmers since 2017, and our team conducts hundreds of fermentation experiments each year. China is where we develop new ideas before bringing them to our operations in Guatemala, Kenya, and beyond.
We're proving that producing countries can also be consuming countries—that the people who grow exceptional coffee deserve to experience it at its best. Come visit, and see what that looks like.
